We work to address the significant mental health concerns of women and children across all of our services.
With funding from North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network, children, young people and adults in McAuley’s services can access targeted psychological support services for mild to moderate mental illness, providing structured, short term, low or medium intensity focussed psychological intervention.
The service entails risk assessment and structured intervention, which can include cognitive behaviour therapy, psycho-education, relation strategies, skills training, interpersonal therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy and mindfulness.
Women and children are offered up to 18 sessions within a 12 month period and can continue to access them after their support from other McAuley programs has come to an end. This support is only available to services in Western Melbourne.
