Dr Sonja Hood, Chair
Dr Sonja Hood is CEO of Community Hubs Australia, a national network of school based sites working with women and pre-school children, generally from non-English speaking backgrounds. Sonja is also a director of the Scanlon Foundation and of the North Melbourne Football Club. She is passionate about social justice and inclusion, particularly for women.
Bridgid Connors is Executive Director People and Culture at Epworth Health Care. Bridgid has always worked in areas that serve to positively impact community wellbeing and improve social justice for all.
Dr Michelle Cotter is Principal at Avila College in Mount Waverley. Leading in a Catholic school community for global citizenship in the twenty first century resonates powerfully with the story of Catherine McAuley and for Catholic girls’ Education.
Dr Anita Morris
Dr Anita Morris is Family Violence Principal Practitioner at the Department of Health and Human Services. She was an expert witness at the Victorian Royal Commission into Family Violence and she brings her knowledge of honouring children’s voices into our organisation to continue to support initiatives that keep women and children safe.
Angela Scaffidi is Senate SHJ’s head of change, and she designs, implements and measures change programs for clients in the public and private sector. She has won a range of state, national and international awards for her work in communication. She is a Fellow of the Public Relations Institute of Australia.
Rob Scenna is Chief Executive Officer of Catholic Church Insurance. He has more than 20 years’ experience in financial services, management consulting and aviation.
Matt Tilley has been a Melbourne radio broadcaster for over 25 years, and was introduced to our organisation through MC’ing the Fed Up lunches, before joining the Board in 2016. He currently works as the Chief Communications Officer for Foodbank Victoria where he oversees the marketing, fundraising, corporate partnerships and volunteering programs. He believes his involvement with McAuley is paramount if men as a collective are to begin to take responsibility for the violence perpetrated against women
Ella McPherson is Chief Operating Officer of the Victorian School Building Authority. She has had a number of roles in the public sector including in education, health and human services, human rights and community development.
David is a senior executive with Macquarie Group Limited with over 20 years’ experience in a diverse range of finance, risk and commercial relationship roles across various listed ASX companies. David has a passion for the vision of McAuley – All Home Safely - and is looking forward to leveraging his experience with the organisation.

Mai Nguyen is a Social Worker of Mercy Health. She has always had a great passion for work that makes a difference in the lives of others, especially women and children
